Just an opinion....but you don't see many H. steindachneri in the hobby....yet. That will soon be remedied.

H. steindachneri was the species I was going to say also. But you say that will soon be remedied huh? :D Any other details you can share?

I guess Ramsdeni because I never seen any member show one.

this is the only one video/picture I've ever seen of one. From the way it looks in the video it is pretty ugly.. But with a bit of experience, I think the fish is skinny and the head is deflated. I think if the fish grows up and add weight with the head fully expanded, and color more vibrant, I think it would make a pretty badass fish..

I think it is ugly but i think just this fish in it's malnourished state

They are all over the place. My lfs got a tankful that no one touched.. And a bunch of members here got them too..

It's just one of them things that when you look for it, it aint there, and when you dont want it, it's all over the place..

Actually, that looks to be a very healthy, very normal ramsdeni. What you see in this video is as good as it gets.

Other than it is very rare I've never understood the fascination with this fish.

It's like any other hard to find fish. People want what they can't find. I can remember when everyone wanted the Barred Midas. Does that date me or what? Now they're everywhere.

Steindachneri will be in the hobby soon enough. Hang in Norcali :) I gave my Macrocanthus to a friend locally. They were the victims of the pond downsizing.

I wanted to grow out a Black Nasty alone or with a female when I got my first tank 2 years ago.

I searched for 6 months - leaving my tank empty and waiting and had absolutely no luck at all.

About 3 months ago I find a tank full at my lfs I was mad. By that point my tank was stocked.

3 months later they are all still there - nobody wants to house them.
