The rarest CA Cichlid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also, the Black Devil or Black Demon Cichlid, Amphilophus Sagittae. They seem to becoming more and more widely available these days; Rapps has them sometimes, and I have seen them on Aquabid once or twice, but you are certainly not likely to run into them anytime at your LFS, and a few years back they were much harder to come by.

Sure wish there were ways to get a hold of Sagittae's without having to purchase $150 dollars worth of fish to go with it.

I'll second Tomocichla Asfraci. I have found sieboldii just not asfraci. When I find them price may not be an object.

T-bar cichlids. I have never seen one in person or at any LFS or ant fish store I have visited in different cities.

Cavamart on here had/has fry, I am hoping to get some from him this spring.

I have been doing quite a lot of research on the Cryptoheros genus and it seems that C. altoflavus, C. septemfasciatus are pretty rare in the hobby.

But in central Kansas everything is rare!

have to agree with previous posts on wild caught jack dempseys. never seen one in my 40 years in the hobby. how close to our inbred specimens are they. maybe someday.
