As far as I'm concerned the recession never took place to begin with;)

Sure it happened to some folks and may not be over for some them.

For some it will be permanent while the enterprising ones will find ways to end it for themselves personally and consider it a blessing in disguise.

how could something that never took place be over, your not making any sense :screwy: it impacted everyone including yourself maybe not directly but you buy gas for your car and groceries right? im sure you noticed a price difference so for you to say it had no effect is simply ignorant nothing against you, i have nothing but respect but open your eyes to the world around you. im sure someone you know was effected by it
I understand where your coming from many people blame their mishaps on recession now a days and thats not right either, those people look for an excuse because they feel helpless so my heart goes out to them but its about time they got their s*** together...

ok a dose of this and im good :chillpill::grinno:

Nice article, poor judgement by the original poster with the lack of sympathy for those effected by the economy though

Poor Judgement? Uncool? Ignorant?

Don't judge lest ye be judged:screwy:

I don't make the news. Don't shoot the bearer. I thought it will cheer up some. Sorry I'm wrong. I'll leave you now to wallow in whatever it is you're in.

umm dude, i said it was a nice article, it's YOUR attitude toward people who are saying they were impacted or are still being impacted that was a turn off from this thread. 3 people have pointed it out and one even sided with you on how some people use it a crutch to explain their problems but you just don't get it.

Hey GudEnuf

My dad worked for GM motors for 25 years. He was laid off when GM closed that plant. Do you ever look at the stock market. How about telling them the resession never even happened. I just can not belive the stupidity of self absorbed uninformed twits like you.

The recession is over because it is now a depression.

Lay off GudEnuf, it isn't his job to feel sorry for you, your mammy, pappy or anyone else. If your feelings got hurt by his post, grow the hell up and Vote.

Yes I do Invest in Stocks. My portfolio took a serious hit in 2008. Is an 80% nosedive serious enough for you?

But I don't dwell in the past. My portfolio has recovered everything and then some. It was up another +1% yesterday. The markets go up and down even during boom times.

Calamities, catastrophies, recessions, and other unwanted events happen. You don't just give up. You fight back and recover and be stronger.

Uninformed? hardly. GM deserved to fail and so does Chrysler. Bankcruptcy is probably the best thing that happened to them. It allowed them to clear out dead stuff in their balance sheets and emerged better companies still employing many thousands. Too bad, there were casualties.

Sympathy will only get you so far. It will not get you employed or get you back on your feet. Feeling sorry for yourself or others you know will not get you or them out of the ditch they're in.

Many folks complain about the unemployment rate and yet I know many people locally that have 2 or even 3 well paying jobs working 12 or sometimes 16 hour shifts 7 days a week.

Some jobs that were lost during the recession might never come back. Retraining and reeducation may be the only way to get back to being gainfully employed.

Go ahead call me other names. It doesn't bother me. Like I said I don't make the news or caused the recession. I'm just sharing some news and calling it the way I see it.

Thanks for the clarification and suggestion. That's a very helpful outlook and attitude.

However, I have to disagree about the depression part. Why?

Check out this piece of news:

http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/09/21/1834368/lennar-returns-to-profit-in-3q.html

Unbelievable! right? In one of the States where the housing blowout caused very severe retrenchment among builders, This one builder Lennar is back to profitabilty.:WHOA:

One good thing that may have come out of this recession is that Homes are back to being affordable and mortgage rates are down to unheard of rates below 5%. I know that it's no consolation to those still grappling with hard times, but hey, there are silver linings out there.

I can agree with this, some (nearly 90%) never lost their jobs. My wife is one... she has 2 jobs(one part time) and they fight over her(both want her full time). She gets lots of overtime.

I'm currently going to school to get into a different field as the one I've been in for the 15 years is nearly gone.
