i know but saying 90 percent of people weren't effects by job loss and how your wife gets overtime doesn't mean their wasn't an impact on the economy? my company froze raises for 2 years except for promotions. Guess since everyone kept their job we weren't effected? We still worked overtime though

I said some.... I just threw 90% out there(I think it would be hard to figure the exact numbers as many sites offer different numbers).

I didn't get a raise for 4 years before the recession. My wife got an $8 raise last year and a $5 raise last year at each of her jobs

I will stick with my first thought that many people were not affected over the last few years.

What i meant was jobless rate is only one sign of a struggling economy. Retail sales, housing market, factory production, stock market, earnings, standard of livings just to name a few are all major signs of a struggling economy. Doesn't really matter that 90+ percent of people were uneffected as far as job loss, they were effected in other ways. That's all i was trying to say.
