The reckoning

what a rare fish you got in the first pic.....lol

Thanks all for following me with everything. Well the drip is running perfectly. Drain running perfect also. I am testing the cold running at about 2 gph and hot about same just to mostly see if the hot will turn on the hot water heater a hunch or a little. So far hot is still dripping cold water but nit as cold as the cold valve so Maybe that will be the trick. It won't run hot but won't run the water heater and is better than the cold.

Here is the drain now with the elbow installed. Keeps a perfect level in the sump. All that worry that I drilled everything where it should be and all that calculating paid off. Water changes on this tank will never happens again. Now to see how long it takes to get the nitrate levels down. They were at about 40+ but never more than 80ppm. Ammonia and nitrites were always 0 .

Dude, I am amazed at the diversity in the tank and how well it looks. BTW your JD is simply amazing!!!

I'll still add an elbow in the sump to adjust water height. Also the drip is going to go in right near the pump so all the new water will be mixed and sent to the main tank super fast.

Why don't you drip into the main tank?
1) It's free, your not wasting your pumps capacity to push the water to the main tank
2) It will keep running even with a power outage
3) There's no way clean water is going down the drain.

Your going to love your drip system!

1. My pump is huge and either way it's going to pump just the same. If it heats up the water a touch it's worth it also.

2. Good idea and Ya kinda forgot about that. But I could move it if I need to if the power went out. I'm thinking of a generator now that I have a couple grand in rays and fish. Problem solved.

3. If clean water flows upstream then it will make it down the drain. 99.9% sure that won't happen at all.
Ya I can't wait for the drip to pay off fully with my nitrates staying at about 10 or so. Cost was about 40.00 or less. I think this is going time be a savings in water cost also as before I was doing allot of water each change to try to keep the water nitrates low. I think this will work better. And saving a little heat and having the gas furnace heat it would be great also. Time will tell. Thank for the questions to think about.

I hear ya on the generator! I need one too.

Your really going to love the drip. I check my water quarterly now. If it's dirty I open up more water to the tank. If it's clean I will slightly close the valve to not waste water and $$$
Summer I usually need to flow more water just because the extra heat increases metabolism, growth, eating and of course poo.
Winters I can throttle back to save $$$ Thinking about it I haven't checked my water in a while???? LOL

Drip is running great, I needed to do a water change on the tank any how so I had it up at about 12gph last night, LOL< The tank looked super super clean this morning. lol, now its at 3 gph and I will leave it here for now and see how it goes, I am dripping a mix of hot and cold, probably about 85 degree water or a touch more, wanting to see if doing this will be better than running the heaters allot. So far it seems really good and the hot water heater is not running extra at all. Time will tell.

Just wanted to share this cool pic showing how different they all are.
