Does anyone know any place in the Northern USA or Canada or any sites online where you can buy them. I have always wanted to try them but there is no availability in the pet stores here in Nova Scotia.

Well, they are listed as invasive in Ontario, fyi. I would guess youll have better luck in a creek. Try and google their current distribution.

They aren't found in this province so i can't just get them froma creek. To the best of my knowledge they aren't banned or illegal here and I want some for my tank so thats why i am looking to buy so I hope someone can help.

Any reason why you want rusty crayfish when there are other species available?

I have tried most of the other species available here (red Swamp, Blue, Australian Red Claw ect.). Now I want to try something new and Rusty's have always kind of caught my eye so i am hoping there are still a few places around that sell them/ship them. Not having any luck so far though.

Rusty crayfish is an invasive species and it can get you in trouble if caught by a wildlife warden or feds. If I were you, I would try to focus on other species of crayfish other than Rusty crayfish. That is the whole reason why most places won't sell rusty crayfish because of how invasive they are.

I agree. If for some reason they make it into your native lakes or streams, say good bye native crayfishes! It's happening here in Wisconsin. It's taking over our native crays, and it's not a good thing.

Which ironically means that we can have them. Since they are so invasive and have set up in wisconsin, wisconsinites can have them, weird huh?

Is there any place in Wisconsin that sells them and could ship them? Once again let me state that as far as my research has revealed they aren't illegal here in Nova Scotia. We also don't have any native crayfish (not that i would ever release an aquarium pet anyway).

If you have any common senses left, you will understand why nobody wants to sell invasive crayfish. Wisconsin regulations says that a person may not posses a live crayfish on any waters except few lakes/rivers. So your bet on Wisconsin is out of luck.

Rusty crayfish is classified invasive, means you will have hard time to find a state that allows someone import an invasive species out of state to Nova Scotia.

I do not understand why you cannot grasp around the rusty crayfish's invasiveness and still want them so badly while there are other crayfish species are available....
