the smartest cichild you have owned

I trained my TO to take pellets from my hand. Here's a video of my TO at a couple months old when I first started hand-feeding him.

Now, he can tell whenever I'm going to feed him. He'll follow the Hikari bag from the bottom of the tank to the top.

i used to have a butti that would take food right from my hand. it would even let me rub its "chin" while i fed it. i dont think that meant it was smart....just that it trusted me.

Id have to agree that oscars seem to be the smartest fish, my little brother has one and he could hand feed it after owning it for like 2 weeks. From my experience my red devil is my smartest fish. He knows where his food spot is, mines through the gravel to get under drift wood to get the crays and just does generally cool stuff. although i use to hand feed him to dont want to any more cause his bites hurt a bit now

I used to have a triple red apistogramma cacatuoides that was working on an elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem but then my paratilapia polleni ate him. So I'd have to say the polleni.

for cichlids, the african electric yellow and blue are the "smartest", imo. and my oscars have to be the dumbest

the most smartest fish i ever keep was my 10" red midas. she can be hand fed, and allows any one to touch her. when i point at her and rotate my hand, she'll do a somersault. sadly she died after a year with me.

btw i seriously doubt tat oscar are smart. i had 4x6" be4, all they did was eat n ****. in e end i gave them away as they produced too much waste
