i wouldn't really reccomend catching them from the wild either, most survive when brought into captivity but they could become stressed or have some kind of disease/worms. here are is a great guy

shoot me a pm if you want an alligator snapper and i'll send you the breeder's email from where i got my ally snappers. i guess i won't have to warn you about their potential size seeing that we're on monsterfishkeepers and you're experienced with large tanks haha

Deffinately not. Snapper turtles can get very aggressive. Some don't, but most will. If you try it, it might not do anything at first but as soon as you leave and return, you might see a very unfortunate outcome. Keep it along, house it with a bunch of fish, put lots of driftwood in to climb, get a powerful filter, sit back and enjoy. :) I'll be happy to answer any questions

And here is a link to the live webcam!

The lights should turn on in about 2 hours but you can see him in the far end hiding in the darkness. He gets more active later in the day. Feel free to check him out 24/7!

PS: If there's more than 4 people in the chat, you may not see the feed. There's a limit on the amount of viewers at one time.

Nice Chelydra, I took a glance on web cam's broadcast but couldnt see the turtle.

I'll try it later.

Cheers.

I'm not too familiar but it's a rare occasion. It's like a birth defect like how certain albinos come about but not as rare. While albinos are a lot whiter, leucistics are pink when they're born and when it gets older, my leucistic snapper will turn a nice Carmel color.

Yeah, he doesn't seem to active today. Basically at the far end of the tank is the gray rubbermain with a hole cut through it. The area of lighter coloring in the lower left of the dark hole (right now, anyway) is him. Just check back now and then to see him swimming around. At least the goldfish will keep you occupied lol

I'm currently breeding crayfish, so hopefully you'll see them crawling around in the future.
