I like how Boomer goes and steals a raisin when your giving one to Chiquita, hah thats cute. I don't know a lot about birds, is it common that they go back to being social after being abused? he seems to love being around you

Ya, Boomer is a little thief, he LOVES raisins. He will do anything for them.
Im glad I found him too, he's my little sweetie. It takes a lot of work to get them back to be social after abuse but you just have to be patient and take your time. They will trust again if you do that. He's my little buddy now. I even get to hold him.

I don't remember any pet stores downtown other than like Pet Supermarket...weird.

It was definitely a mom and pop store. Quite small and tucked away. My grandma knew it well because she kept african greys.

My vet gave me a few free visits since he new what I was doing. He does that on occasion for me. He knows Im a freak when it comes to my animals.

I hope that's the only reason on the vets part...

Yeah - I dunno knew like every shop here because of my mini-zoo so I was just curious. I know of a mom and pop shop in Bonita that kept their cockatiels like that but they got shut down like 12 years ago. Oh well - was curiosity more than anything. The only places I knew in Naples were Pet Supermarket, Animal Magnetism, and a store that just had a sign that said Pets. There was also the Aviary but they only closed like 3 years ago. Now there are two awesome pet stores in Naples. It's for the Birds and Amazing Pets.

That's so sad. My neighbors have a lot of large Parrots they rescued... many of them unfortunetaly are in small old school cages... but they are all better off because a lot of them were abused. They have a claustrophobic free-roaming Maccaw that they rescued 3 years ago and still pulls his feathers, because his first owner hit him and burned him with cigarettes.

saw that in your first vid, hes just like YAY A FREE RIDE~ hah

Ya, he loves when I do that. I do it once in a while for them.

I hope that's the only reason on the vets part...

Ya, it is. I've been going to him my whole life, 32 years. My parents have been going to them forever too so he is more then just a vet to us, he's a friend. I put down two chinchillas and he didn't even charge me. He's a great man, very kind of giving.

Oh that's disgusting. Boomer was burnt with cigerettes too. I smoke but I smoke in a different room. I don't and will not smoke around my animals. But at least thos birds are not abused anymore. Do you know if they let them out a lot?
