The Story Of The Pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Should be fun! I remember when I built my pond. It was fun to have until the raccoons and possums found out about it :irked:

oh yea i almost forgot. the list for the bok is as follows.
-7/16" thick 4'x8' sheet of plywood.
-Nine 8' 2x10 boards
-three 8' 2x4 boards
and for insulation i bought three half inch thick 4x8' pink foam insulating boards.

the rest of the stuff to build the box we already have around the house from other projects. we are going to try to at least start the box tommorow night. and i am going to order the liner tonight.
does anyone know how big of a pipe i would need for this pump?

Would you mind telling me how much you spent on just wood?

Chad

I take it the plywood was the most expensive part besides the insulator right? Also what kind of ply did you get? Thanks and sorry if I am bothering you...lol

i used chip board for the plywood. maybe its not the same thing. the cost of all the indivitual boards was:
-7/16" thick 4'x8' sheet of plywood. $6
-Nine 8' 2x10 boards $6.98 each
-three 8' 2x4 boards $2.09 each
and for insulation i bought three half inch thick 4x8' pink foam insulating boards. $7.50 each. and dont wory you arent bothering me ask all the questions you want.

well its kinda embarsing but i ran out of money and cant aford to finish the pond yet. i will still build as much of it as i can but i will probably have to wait on building the filter. as long as i can get it to hold water we will be ok. if someone can answer my question on flowrate as soon as possible i would apreciate it because i stil want to ortder as many of the parts as i can before i have to save a bit more money.

Answer: 3/4" pvc for the return will keep your pump spec's in line w/manufacturer.

What's the chip board for? You are aware it doesn't have much strength? vs plywood.

Smart move to get committed to a project before you run out of money:thumbsup: . I start out without money and it's down hill after that. :D

How big is this thing going to be?
