Doesn't your username state that you have great karma? Seriously, that is messed up, but when you teach at a title one school, sadly that kind of stuff is the norm. Well, maybe not the part about being hit by the car.
Kogo- that bulletin board is sweet! I like that it is 3-D. Are all of those fish tanks in your classroom too? What grade do you teach? I teach second grade and have a 125 in my classroom. My principal does not seem to care about it, but I am sure the minute I start moving more tanks into the classroom she will take issue.
I teach middle school science and I love it. My principal brings people on tours to the room, so it is safe to say she is OK with the tanks.
as for GR8, I do crossing duty as well...
we are about 20-30yds from a very busy road and the neighborhood families often bring tricked out golf carts to drop off thier kids. So between giant SUV's and tiny golfcarts (all wanting to U-turn in the crosswalk while they talk to other parents) and nothing to defend myself with other than a big red sign... I can safely say I feel your pain.
I have learned to hold the sign out to the side when people drive to fast... it seems they are more concerned with scratching thier paint that hitting a child or a lowly over educated crossing guard and tend to slow way down. HTH
aawwee want me to take you to the med room and have a cuddle with Barnaby the " get well soon" crocodile I'm sure you'd catch something if you did, i'm sure it should be washed, all the ill children drool on it
