The truth in changing water

I do a 90% water change weekly on my 1000gallon tank.. The way I do it is hook one hose to the hot water on my washing machine hook the other to the garden hose turn them on togeher. I let it run for 15min on hot water than let it sit for 1/2hour to reheat then add again 15min. Basically I repeat the cycle until the tank fills takes about an 1hr1/2 to fill the tank. When all is said and done the temp stays between 82f and 86f. Also before I add water I add Amquel+/Nova aqua+ directly to the tank before I refill, and I change filter pads every water change :)
