Yes, Umbee are also superior predators definitely in the top 3-4. Pike Cichlids can also be pretty formidable predators.

NOW THATS WHAT I AM TALKIN ABOUT!!! LoL!! Crenicichla and Cichla are the TOP predatory cichlids from South America, with Caquetaia (umbie, spectabile, krausii) coming in close third...CENTRAL America, the Parachromis dominate....

I found it interesting that when they collect "wild" cichlids from Florida waterways, many of them, even ones we consider aggressive, have a large amount of plant material in their stomachs. It's probably a lot harder to catch small fish in the wild than in a tank!

No fish is completely carnivorous or herbivourus...lol. They get a little of each. Like when a jag sucks in a fish, it gets bits of plants and debris too.... Or a severum is eatin a plant, it gets some snails..
