a mata would not be a good choice in a pond since you would never see it and that is an expensive turtle to risk IMO.
 
i agree. they r an awesome turtle but they are expensive and they would just stay were i couldnt see them most of the time. the point of adding the turtle is to try and have something some what more active than the caiman so its not just a empty lookin enclosure
 
Id go with some cooters, cheap, fairly active and are cheap so if he ever gets hungry you wont be loosing much money, although it would suck a lot
 
sweet as hell man we had a couple spectacled caiman growin up in the 80's they were awesome to feed we had them outside and used bathtub's for water . yea i cant wait to get moved to pa thatll be one of the first things i get when i buy my house.

can't wait to see it done! I say get some female Red Eared Sliders. Cheap and they get big.
 
Well after you figure out what type of turtle to buy, can you please add rabbits to thie enclosure? That would be awesome.:headbang2
