The weather outside

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That sucks, last year there was a week that is was like 105 every day and we practice on a turf field, so you basically add 10 more degrees, worst week of practice ever. It felt like I could barely breathe. Good thing we have a shower on the field for days like that, if it wasnt for the shower, i probably would have fainted lol

haha damn we were on turf tho it wasnt to bad as it gets nicer when the wind blows at 7:30 at night till 10 so it was fine. But playing fullback and trying to move in that weather just sucked.
Our team was good tho we got to practice with only shoulder pads and helmet for the first time since the beginning of camp which is a rare.

it was heat index about 105 today and i had to mow. not fun.

Three people died in this area yesterday, all heat related. The youngest was 46 and he had been playing softball when he succombed.

I saw them practicing at the school I'm doing electrical work for on the Southside and thanked god I was too old to play

We spent the weekend 4 hours away where it was 100, and we had the AC going all day. Came home to a cold house yesterday. The temp right now is 55 with a predicted high of 61 for the rest of the week. The inland heat draws moisture from the ocean, causing our area to initially get fogged in. We're in the fogged in, overcast phase now. When it gets in the 80s and 90s here , it's a major heat wave. I don't know of anyone with AC. We might have wood stoves for heating, but no AC. Two hours inland, it's supposed to get to 85 today.

Just be glad you guys aren't in hell, I mean NW Florida. Rainy as hell, 86' and the rain isn't cooling anything off, and humid as hell. I hate Florida. Oh, and broken a/c that won't go below 84' and the a/c guy was supposed to be here early this morning to replace the central unit and it's now 11am. Wonder what early morning Monday means to him...
