HERE'S THE CATCH!!.... the walls of the tank are 3/8 acrylic. The bottom is 1/2 and the top is 3/8 with 1/2 reinforced. I have seen this tank up and running personally with a black tip reef shark. It bowed pretty good but obviously held. There is almost zero crazing on the joints but at MINIMUM ill be beefing up all the joints with acrylic rods of some sort. Any ideas on how to support This thin monster so I can sleep at night?

Note, I am not an expert, but I had an acrylic tank that had undersized walls (did not know any better when I bought it).
It bowed quite a bit.. maybe 3-4 years later, the top started cracking from the stress of the walls being too thin (at least that's what another manufacturer told me).. No advice on how to brace it/reinforce it, but keep an eye on the top.. I heard two loud pops in the middle of the night, then the next day, I had two cracks in the top. Thank God it held. I drained the water down halfway until I could get another tank.. That's also something to consider.. make an awesome river tank with waterfalls.. (glue in acylic partitions as waterfalls, this will also help reinforce). Pump the water from one side to another. A river tank would also have less water, less stress on the walls.

Update... 1 tank is in the basement it almost didn't fit! If it was 1/8" longer then it wouldn't have made it threw the corner. Did my final finishing buffing tonight also got the black backing put in the tank and over the overflow.
Tomorrow the stand goes down, tank goes on and from there just hook up the plumbing and see what happens.

I also got a new fish shipment coming in tomorrow. Can't wait to get her in the tank!

Wow it doesn't look like both will fit, if they don't I will hold on to one for you until you move to a bigger house. Looks awesome keep going.
