Just stopped by to see what's new - whoah! Big tank - that deformation is scary, but I guess you know what you're doing! Shame you couldn't go full 20', but sometimes there's no choice but to compromise I suppose.... Good luck with it, I'll check back soon and see how you're doing!

I really would have loved to keep it 20' and one day I still plan to re attach it when I have the space. But after seeing how much it bows at 10' I can only imaging how scary it would be at 20'

Lol no joke! Its been moving pretty quickly. I have to drain and move a couple tanks before I can set this one in its new home... Still planning on moving along pretty quick with it tho. Hoping to get it in the basement this weekend then connect the plumbing next weekend and start to get it cycled and running
 
Every time you fill it use warm water (80-90f) as it will soften the acrylic to bend without cracking. Once it gets to it's filled shape the water can cool and it will be OK. When Acrylic is colder it tends to crack when bending easier. Just an FYI

This is a good idea I'll have to fill it with warm water next time when its in the basement. Tomorrow I'll add more top supports and I think this too will help the bowing alot

The issue I see with adding the supports is it will put more stress on the upper seem rather than transferring to the top panel, which has some give taking it away from the seem. The way I look at it is if it works don't fix it! You may come up with new problems. I get that it's not ascetically appealing, but function then fashion.

Yea I had thought about this before I decided to better top bracing. But looking at every other acrylic tank ive seen. The tops are all very well supported, in the old days guys would use two sheets on the top... On this tank the top is super flimsy so I figured whatever little bit I can add to it won't hurt
