thermometer question

get a heater with a thermostat. Depending on the size of your tank, you may be spenind about $ 50-$100 for the complete setup.

My setup includes a digital thermometer, Titanium 300W heater with a thermostat controller with a separate temp probe. If the temp drops below 80.9 degrees, it'll turn the heater on and shuts it off when the temp reaches 80.9 degrees.

you don’t have it set up right....



you need to pull the strip off and put it in your bin, then it will leave some sticky mess so get a blade and scrape it off too, then get a digital or glass thermometer and put it on or in your tank..

that's the only way to use those stick on things

The problem with the sticker is that it reads the temprature of the glass, not the water. Go glass or digital.

that heater looks like a liability. you should cosider getting a better one before you cook your fish.

those are more of a decoration than a thermometer if i could i would put a worldwide ban on them
your alot better off getting a real thermomiter for real aquariums glass or even beter digital.

much better.doesnt take a day to change temps lol

with the new temp gauge,in the last day,the temp went up 2 degrees.
i didnt touch the heater. going to get a new one.
i turned it down 2 degrees and the temp droped a little.
i dont buy heaters,i guess they go by watts?
what watts for a 55 gallon?are those kinds with a temp gauge built in good or should i stay away from those?

IMO get an EBO JAGER heater. I would grab the 150 watt form here

I have also heard good things about the visi-therm stealth heaters but have not used them.

The packaging itself will tell you what wattage to get. They are rated by the size of the tank. Unless you get a very good one, dont be tempted to buy one that is over rated for your tank. If it fails, it will have the wattage to raise your tank beyond the point of death if you do.
