These Tanks + This Stock = What Belongs Where?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
CA Cichlid kind of guy so unless I could keep them in the 300g with a pair or two, I would pass on them personally. Wouldn't mind see a pic of each of the tanks as they are now. The 300g has a large enough foot print to where you might be able to have two pairs without it being an issue.

Sure thing, here you are sir (these are the last pics I shot, stock has moved since then). I don't have a pic of the other 55 gallon, it's black back and and bare bottom for now.

I would put the Dovii in the 250 (because of the width).

300 becomes a community with the Red Hooks, Flagtail, and some new fish (maybe the Motaguense pair as well, don't know how aggro they get?).

Not sure about the others.

You have two Festae pairs or is one a growout?

I think its safe to say the Midevil pair is in a good spot now unless you would think they would play well with another others in the 300g. However if you think the Festae pair is find to keep in the 55g how about

300g - Midevil pair + Red Hooks and/or Taeniurus
250g - Dovii pair
120g - Motaguense pair
55g - Festae pair

Get rid of the female Midevil, and leave everything else as-is.

300 gallon (96"x24"x30")
x2 Parachromis dovii pair

250 gallon (72"x36"x22")
x2 Parachromis motaguense 'Rio Blanco' pair
x8 Myleus rubripinnis Peruvian "Red Hooks"

120 gallon (48"x24"x24")
x2 Midevil pair

55 gallon (48"x12"x21")
x2 exCichlasoma festae 'Rio Tumbes' pair

55 gallon (48"x12"x21")
Semaprochilodus taeniurus (7" unknown sex)

cant ever get enought threads about your awesome tanks:) that being said if I were you I would move the dovs to tge 250 and keep the labrinellum ( midevils latin name) solo in the 120 as I love solo amphs and sounds like he's rpugh on the female. as for the 300 id go with the rtms and the red hooks and add a smaller group of fish such as convicts, sieboldi or what not of about 4-6
to create somewhat of a colony and add a rock pile to keep them safe from the rtms but I think a breeding colony of cons or hrps would be really cool and would give something for the pair to defend against which imo makes bonds stronger. as for the festae I say sell sell sell and find something that will cohabitate better that's maybe on the rarer side. maybe get a group of the the yellow labridens from the wetspot. either way were gonna need lots of updates on your choices

How about, Dovii in the 55... Just kidding.

250: Dovii pair
300: Mota pair + Red hooks
120: Festae pair
55: Midevil fry (get rid of the parents and grow some of the fry out)
55: Free for any other fry.

Just my thoughts, I personally would keep the festaes over the Midevils. The Dovii and Motas would stay no questioning that!
