they are at it again. lots of pics

ok they did it again. these are super horny fish. i got tired of them eating the wrigglers so i removed the eggs on day two. i put them in a 5 gallon with an airstone as the parent. there are quite a few wrigglers now. i wrapped the filter intake with filter floss and put rubber bands to hold it in place. it is a slow filter. i am excited. i have watched them spawn three times now and haven't got this far yet. they fought for a while after i removed the eggs and they looked all over the tank for the eggs. i tried to distract them with some frozen blood worms, but only the male paid any attention to them. they have been getting along good again so i think they worked it out.

i am at work right now. i will have to wait until they hatch and i get them into a 20 gallon for pics. they are in a 5 gallon hex inside a flowerpot right now. it would be nearly impossible to get decent pics.

i have little swimmers! there are more than i thought. only 1/4 of the eggs were actually fertile so i am going to guess and say 40 to 50 right now. i am not sure how many will survive. i am hoping for at least 20 to 25. we'll see.

Good luck and post pics! It would be great to have a photo diary of those fry as they grow and develop into adult size.

The male looks like a JD x FH and the female is a BP.

Post pics up. I'm wondering what nice ones would look like.

You ship to NY. j/k

But those are awsome
