Looking good. What are the sizes of the kitties in that photo? Feed some shrimp (remove head and tail spike - leave the rest) heheheh may speed up the coloration of fins ...sometimes i just remove the head shell with spike so that RTC can get to eat the orange stuff inside the head.

I feed my cat's shrimp, mussels, squid (whole), octopus, fish fillets.....the cat's are 18''. the red come's out more before feeding, and fades after feeding. don't under why, but it does.

Are these cats in enough demand at a large size for us to "grow them out" and expect a buyer when we are tankbusted?

That being said, I know the keepers in this thread are very responsible.

i would say no, just for the fact that a lot of people can't house these bad boys.

You talking about me? lol. I know exactly what he means. Getting into Monster Catfish usually means a 1000 gal or more tank in your future. For me it means 4000 gal, then phase two a 1000 gal, then phase three a 500 gal, and I've also got a 210 gal I'm building as well. Hopefully my garage won't sink into the earth!

To keep on track those are some awesome rtc, and can't wait to see them full grown in a few years!

i'll be up there with you with the 5000gal soon, I'm just taking notes from your project.

and i can't wait for the cats to grow bigger as well.

they are looking great. How are they getting along together at a small size? I know many have tried to keep them together that small unsuccessfully. Seems they are really aggressive when small towards each other, but when adults they are fine together. so I've heard anyways.

yeah but as necro says they fight like crazy, trying to bite each other inflicting real bad injuries, at one point of time i had to separate them for a few days

now they are like 26-28"(guessing here as they are in a pond now)


when they are small they are a real fun and as they grow they get this personality too, great looking cats though haynchikook(spelling)

out of the pond and into the 180gal QT tank. The RD bit, cut, and almost killed the cats.

My Lima was killed by the red devil so i had to give him up.

right now i'm tiling the pond with a built in over flow/ sump. will keep all posted.

for all that is wondering about the cats, the biggest one is 20''. I'm feeding them two shrimps every other day to keep there growth to a minimal. the filtration, Now, is a fx5 in a 3/4 filled tank.
