mine does the same thing, hasn't tagged me yet but its getting closer ;) that eggcrate thing is a good idea.
 
I've wanted a Red Devil all my fish-keeping life just so I can get these bites and say they it was done but a fish. That and hurt little fingers. :D

Of course after I showed my mum these pics she wouldnt let me keep one but I'll persuade her.
