Things in our african tanks that maybe shouldnt be there....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
He (Rafael) goes out at night and eats. He seems to be getting plenty.

6 Zebra Danios - 2 were killed when my Red Zebra decided their heads tasted good. Removed the rest.
4 Head and Tail light Tetras - mostly ignored

I have a baby Red Zebra in my 22 gallon "community" tank right now! I raised him at the store, and thought that it would be a cool experiment to throw him in my established tank, and see what would happen. He started off about the size of my neons, now he's a little bigger. :wall:

I have my Electric Blue with a baby Senegal and a baby Green Terror. He chases the GT every now and then but no fin nips have occurred which leads me to believe they might be playing..? The Senegal was chased into the cave on day 1 of the EB being in there but he came right back out and charged at him and since then, Hendrix (my Electric Blue) has left him alone.

UPDATE! i now have two pearlscale goldfish in my 150 tang tank thanks to the wife!:irked:

58 gallon (upgrading to a 210 soon) Mixed Malawi and Tanganikan African tank. Everybody in this tank is fastly becoming crowded and mean to each other.

1 - 5" Male Utaka Unknown sp.
1 - 4" Unknown female black Mbuna possibly Pseudo. "Acei"
1 - 4" Frontosa (Eating maching, growing fast)

Purchased as established breeders, haven't spawned yet
4 - 2-3" Neo. brichardi (1 male, 2 chicks, 1 baby .5" long 3 months old)
These guys spawn all the time, but the babies end up as food,
except for 1. He's a little fighter and will come out and eat with
the big guys every day.
1 - 3" Male Yellow Lab.
1 - 3" Nimbochromis
3 - 2-3" Zebras
All of these were added together at about 1-2", in a span of about 2 weeks.
Others that have not been so lucky.

A handfull of misc. africans at the start and a few weaker
ones lately. - EATEN

I think I'm partly to blame for the cramped conditions, but from my African
experience (5-6 years) it is deffinately THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST.
