Things That Are Said Incorrectly So Much That They Are Accepted As Correct

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One that really gets to me is one that I see here on MFK often. When someone has something for sale but they have it ''for sell''. For example, ''Dovii fry for sell''..... They are for SALE !! For SALE !!! FOR SALE !!!!!!!! Not for sell !!!!

+1

this isn't about how people make mistakes when typing, writing or texting. it's about verbal mistakes that occur so often it becomes a norm.

so if someone is saying "their, they're, there" or "your, you're" it doesn't matter since they all sound the same

Sorry for the derail.

Being from Brooklyn you get a ton of butchered words and expressions.

Drawring instead of drawing.
Axe instead of ask. Axeya instead of ask you.
Libary instead of library.
Bastid instead of bastard.
Wichoo instead of with you.
Whassamatta instead of what's the matter.
Yous instead of you when addressing multiple people.
Etc, etc...

What is right and what is wrong, how do we know whether or not the words that we think are correct, are really in fact, "right". What dictates a word being correct? English folks probably could say that Americans are wrong. Since America came long after England, should we continue to follow their terminology?

Cigarette would be the wrong word, because they call it a F-a-g there. French fries would be wrong because its really not French. Hot dogs are not made from canines.

...we could even get into pronunciation as well, pretty much all of the Mexican stuff, it's boo-dddee-tho and not ber-ee-doe. Foreign words don't count you say? In that case don't ever pronounce jalapeno with an H anymore then. To attempt is to accept.

Everyone everywhere butchers Chicklid names too, and some have even become the norm depending who is saying what in your region/area
