I keep a length of leftover 2" PVC pipe in the track along the bottom of our patio doors so there is no way it can be budged or lifted from the outside.
Windows are always locked, and we also spent the money on an interior wireless security camera setup (http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/prod...spx?path=83c4d171d59ba0b7aa053f727b0416efen02) as we cannot mount anything to the exterior of our townhome (we own, not rent) due to rules for the area; they work well but better if you buy some micro SD cards for them, and the night vision was surprisingly clearer than expected for the price.
