be careful with them, they can be fairly easy to take care of, I had mine since I was 8, but it can be easy to mess things up. make sure you know all about your tortoise inside and out, and make sure if they are CITES listed you have the proper paperwork/micro chipping like my greek tortoise had to. also look out for ones with bumps on shells and try to avoid those, as bumpy shells means calcium deficiency. also remember the needs for UVB lights etc. so make sure you research a lot about them, and think if they are right for you. one problem is the aquarium has see through sides, meaning they will try to go through the glass, as they don't know it's there. another issue would be ventilation. By no means am I an expert, just an aspiring one who hopes to breed these wonderful reptiles.Daughter is 10, well this just in… my wife has a baby in her belly so add that to my family i doubt I'll be getting a larger lizard if it is a lizard we get would have to be small, or a tortoise... I did find a crocodile skink looks cool kinda like toothless from how to train your dragon
