Thinking about a brown bullhead.

Hmm then forget the sunfish. What would a good cichlid(s) be to go with all the other fish on the list and not make me have to do more than 60% a week?

With a pleco and bullhead in addition to others 60% should be what your doing. I do 40-50% twice a week and I'm not stocked heavily

If you want but I do more medium sized waterchanges than one huge one

Ill just do a big one, I've got and plan on getting very hardy fish. Plus when it comes summer, I'll be in and out of home every few days. I have reliable people to feed them but I can't ask them to do a water change for me.

now what non messy new world cichlid should I do? Maybe a single sev. GT, jd?

More smaller water changes are better than one big one.

Sev could work but may kill danios, Gt could work but more than likely will eat danios and a jd will compete with cats for hiding places and eat danios

Apparently nobody likes danios :). Maybe I'll have to rethink bottom feeders, yet again .

I think I'll jus resist the bullhead until I can get my 180 either native or tropical, either way it'd be fine in it. Feel bad since I told the guy I was about 90% going to order one but I am just not ready (yet) to be doing over 60% a week on a tank that size. I can't imagine those of you with 1000 gallons and up, do you have a life outside water changes during the weekend :). Also I'd like to try my hand at two or three (or one big) cichlid since I've been meaning to for a while. Thanks for the help guys but I really don't see anyway I can get a bullhead and even a small cichlid along with all the others and avoid doing these massive changes.
