Thinking about discus...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you think that, thats fine.If you think a high ph is good for Discus thats fine too.

@OP, Don't listen to Doctor Horn, His advice is wrong:irked: Listen to 3dees, His fish aren't stunted. They are beautiful I might add. Sorry Doctor Horn, but your fish are stunted. I don't see how you can come off as knowing better than someone else when you can't even raise your Discus properly.

Hmpf.
Okkk...Thanks for your help. I'm not sure I'm completely sold on discus, but I am completely sold on redoing my tank.
Any opinions on what could go well with a pictus catfish and a big school of rasboras? haha

I don't think he's sticking with discus anymore. The OP has another question now, but it should be made into a new thread:).

As for what we've learned from this thread, 3dees > doctor horn

doctor horn, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Thats a joke how can you say my fish stunted some of those fish are not that old . I traded some of the larger fish for smaller ones. they are still growing .

I know it's fine. And so that you don't put words in my mouth, what I said, in writing, is that discus will not become sterile at a high PH and that they can indeed live an thrive at higher PH's. There are hundreds of variables to these statements and frankly I have no intention in going into them with you.

What I hope any new discus keeper understands is that, much more important than PH is stability of the parameters.

All i can say if you check from experts what is the proper chemistry for Discus .I think you will fine my numbers are correct.
