Just took a look at the 220/250g tank. It measures 72x30x24, which my calculations make it a 220. He claims its a 250. Either way it doesn't really matter, its got dimensions that I like.
The tanks in pretty darn good condition. It has a built in overflow at one end (it was designed to be used as a room divider), and a HECK of an overbuilt stand. The whole thing is 2 layers of 1 or 1.25" plywood. It has two openings on the "front", two openings on the "back", and an opening on each end. All doors come with it. The two end openings are covered by framed grates to allow air circulation through the stand.
The only thing I don't like about it, is that the openings in the top of the stand are about 9"x24". They are very narrow, and would make it very difficult to add decor and fish, let alone catch fish.
Considering he's only asking $300 (without a leak test), it seems like a good deal to me. Especially since he's gonna toss in a free 90g to boot! I may try to pick it up this weekend, if I can.
How hard would it be to cut the top openings in the acrylic larger? Just use a router, or something like that?
Its still dirty with some of the old salt water calcium and sand, but it just needs a good cleaning and maybe a little buffing.
Here's some pics:
