I'm beginning to think that monster fish are too much for me to handle right now. Not sure of how to solve this problem yet though.
I have a 220g with two pacus(16"), two plecos(9"&13"), an oscar(11"), a silver arowana(18"), a TSN(12'), a lmb(12"), and a bluegill(5").
The biggest problem... THE PACUS.
I got them a year ago and they were the size of a nickel when i bought them, now theyre huge. They splash everywhere, bite fins off other fish, band into the walls, eat more than I can feed them, bio-load is insane; over all, theyre terrible fish to keep.

I was going to put them into my pond (check the sig) but after hearing theyd chew through the liner, I'm thinking that it isnt an option.

Here's a couple pics of them that I took a few weeks ago

Like I said, I dont know what to do... But these two fish are really making me think that real monsters just arent for me...

i think you should switch to cichlids. The will make you enjoy the hobby more and wit that 240 you have your pick at whatever you want

I doubt you'll have any good luck, but maybe see if you can donate them to a local public aquarium or fish store. You could also see if anyone on here will take them from you. I know several members love them (I'm not one of those members, LOL!). If all else fails, BBQ pacu ribs are supposed to be quite good tasting and there are quite a few recipes out there for them.

Isn't there something about not eating aquarium fish because of the chemicals we use to treat the water? To the OP I feel you bro. My royal clown knife is about to break my patience with him and his eating habits. The blue rams my fiance got me for Christmas are so much more appealing now.

If I wasnt so worried about them chewing through the liner in the pond, I'd throw their butts outside and thatd be the end of it. But I'm kinda scared to take that risk

Thats why after years of monsters, snakeheads and what not. I setup a 50 with Angelfish roseline sharks and diamond tetras. This is the most peaceful tank I ever had and the most enjoyment I got out of fishkeeping. Bigger is not always better.
