Thinking about this light:

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i agree on the 6 bulb, and although i would advise against bolting it to the lid, as this would involve taking the frame out and producing a poor heat transfer. I would use the legs if you could and just deal with the loss of room.

I don't think I'll have to do any heavy modification to the light, the stands screw to the top anyways so i might be able to use those holes.

Yeah, gonna leave a space, that way i can lower it to get as close to the tank as possible too.

It's probably going to be awhile before i get the light, but I'll post something when i do.

if you lower it too much you wont be able to open the lid... keep that in mind

True, True.

Right now I'm putting the rock and sand in the tank, it's real cloudy right now making it a pain in the butt.

yeah that will clear up in time. I like to use a "gravel vac" and suck up some of that fine particle crap after it settles. But thats just me

Woke up this morning and it still hasent settled, what i can see though has a fine layer of dust on it:ROFL:

We're gonna drain most of it and add new water, but finish adding the sand and rock while it's low.
