Hello

I just want to introduce myself, first post here. So hello....

I currently have a 10 gallon fish tank with 4 tiger oscars in it. I love my fish and I was thinking about getting them a new tank, but i dont know what size i should get. I purchased the fish @ 1inch big and now they are all about 4 inchs. any idea what size tank I should get. I was thinking about a 29 corner tank to put in my living room.

Also, any suggestions on how to keep my tank clean. I have a filter and on the box it say that its made for a 5-10 gallon tank. But it seems that every other day I have to clean the tank.

Please help!!!!!

Thank you :)

Is this a joke? Four, 4" long oscars in a 10 gallon?
I'd say the minimum size tank to keep all 4 in is well over 10x larger than what you currently have. If this isn't a joke, that is why you have do clean it so much. I've raised Oscars that got to be over 14" long.

(Still hoping this is a joke... )

Whoa... 4 tiger oscars, in a 10 gallon??? :WHOA: Dude... your going to need a WAY bigger tank than a 29 gallon. That's not even big enough for 1 oscar, much less 4! If you plan to have these 4 fish into adulthood, I'd say you need a 180 gallon at the bare minimum. And believe me, I'm being kinda conservative with that.

If the biggest tank you can afford is a 29 gallon tank, you need to seriously consider keeping a different species than an oscar.

I hope this helps some, and you better believe others are going to chime in on this. Good luck to you.

There are certainly going to be fireworks on this thread... :FIREdevil

Ok this is not what I expected, but I just ill go with it.

This in NOT a joke and I really need some advice. Like I said I have 4 tigers and they are about 4 inchs. I was going to get a 29 gallon corner tank for about 2 months. After the 2 month period, I was going to get a 55, then in a couple of months I was going to get a 75, and so on.

I know that 4 oscars cant live in a 10 gallon tank forever, but at the point there are right now, its okay, atleast i thought.

My plan was to get bigger tanks as the fish got bigger. Is that okay to do? I guess I should have explained myself a little better, so for that.

You are going to need a tank a lot bigger than 29 gallons for all 4 of them. For your next tank upgrade ideally you should be looking at a 180 ( 6 x 2 x 2), but if thats too big try a 135 gallon at least.
