thinking bout a silver arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
it all depends on the fish, especially when it comes to Os. They have quite a wide range of temperaments and personalities. I put my aro in the tank first and got him settled in at 11-12". The Os were 5" at the time. It worked out for a while but after the Os settled in, they got more and more aggressive over food and feeding time. The aggression eventually extended past feeding time and became harrassment whenever they felt like it. I have also seen my same Os get along with a 2" bluegill with no problems. I just added a green sunfish and a 3" bluegill and they murdered them overnight. You never really know what will work. If you are going to try it, watch them closely and have another tank ready if it doesnt work out.

I have a 75g here as well if needed all though I'd rather him not end up in there lol and ya anytime I add new fish in the big tank I always watch the tank for the first hour or two just incase, and after that I always keep a eye on it for good couple days as I know oscars can be finiky about others in with them, but in all honestly I've only ever seen my tiger go ape crazy on one fish when I added him in the tank which was another male and with oscars that's a big no no ! I've added fish in the tank they can easily eat and they haven't touched or even bothered to look at em... So I think I'm gonna try it tho
