Hows this look for the inner workings of my Wet/Dry?

looks good but i would not use lava rock the pot scrubbers will def be enough just fill the whole chamber full.
Also your intake should go through a drip tray to get the most out of the pot scrubbers

I did plan on a drip tray over the pot scrubbers. with a small over flow right before it.

The Pump an heater arrived today. :headbang2 constuction shall beging soon. :woot:

I started building my wet/dry last night, I cut the glass from my 10 gal that I tore apart(only cut myself once :clap ) Then Siliconed the 3 Pieces into the tank an used the tank frane from the 10 gal to piece together one for this.

Now I just have to silicone the braces in for the Screen under the pot scrubbers. Im still not sure if Im going to do a drip tray or a drip bar for above the scrubbers.

Once all thats done its just a matter of doing the Plumbing for the pump, getting it in the Stand, an testing it all out.

Almost finished, I finally found a Home depot that had Eggcrate Louvers out on the shelf. Now I just need to frabricate a Drip plate, do the plumbing for the pump, an get/do the overflow.

I filled it with water to make sure everything worked how I planned

Looking good, maybe I'll give a wet/dry a try on my next tank.

Ya there pretty simple to construt, especially if you start with a old tank as the base setup.

Wet/Dry is now up n running. 700GPH HOB Overflow (from Ebay). I dialed the 1" outflow of my pump to a 3/4" PVC Pipe (pump is fully piped) up into the tank terminating at three separate Loc-Line 3 1/2" flare outlets (from Ebay as well), (two pointing down at 45% , one bout 1/2" below the waterline). I put a 250Watt Visatherm Stealth heater in the main sump area.

I think my Reducing the pipe from 1" to 3/4" scales the pump down just enough to go well with the 700GPH Overflow.

More Pictures please.... I want to do this and have been reading for two weeks... Starting to under stand...... And like it...
