thats where I buy my saltwater from is petco and it works really goog and yes by all means get an ele if you want one I did and liked it or both of them and that agood thing yo put them back into the enviorment that the actually came from.

and they grow about a few inches a year.

I had a snowflake eel before, and the minimum tank size for one is 75 gallons but bigger is always better.

ok first thx for all the info and after thinking about this and checking out tanks i want to have saltwater in my room and move my cichlids downstairs into a bigger tank, thinking about plywood tank but looking into sealers right now. I checked out a 75 at petsmart today 200 bucks and i picked up one end and its was heavy thought it was me at first so got my friend to do it also and he said heavy and i said no to wth weight plus stand,water, sand, rock the weight keeps coming for being upstairs so kinda changing question any ideas as to small eels with colors?

40breeder. would be sufficenit for about 2 yrs maybe longer if you start with a baby. I kept one for about 2 yrs in mine and he got a lil' over 18" in that time. I ended up trading him in for a ribbon eel which i ended up with for about 3 more yrs. I kept mine with a pair of percula clowns and a nasty damsel. He never really bothered anyone, but I fed him very well.
