Thinking of adding a canister, suggestions please.

I have the 304-b. The flow is actually pretty good on it. So far nothing has leaked and the only part I don't like is it takes some muscle to get it going. However, I rarely have to do that so it's no big deal. As far as media, I haven't been very adventurous and just stuck with the standard media with bio balls and it's been doing great. If you plan on just using filter pads then it will definitely clear up your water. I saw one on ebay the other day for $87 shipped which is a steal and a half due to the enormous amount of room there is for the filter pads. Oh and the UV doesn't last very long if you care about that.

As far as I know the 304b is Sunsun's largest which is what I have X2. It comes with 4 trays. Each tray will hold about 2lbs of bio/ceramic rings. I think that's a lot of bio media imho. Got each here for less than $90 including shipping

Since you you have both, which do you prefer & why?

thanks

, I don't really have the funds to drop on a FX6. I'd like to stay under 150.00 for this little project.

Your setup sounds pretty serious and well planned & plumbed.
Why would you go cheap on a backup system?
Save up, add an Eheim 2262 and have even better peace of mind

Just my $0.02

You def bring up a great point... However I'm not really looking at it as a back-up.. It's more as a little
addition.. Something to make clean-ups faster after messy feedings, quick clarity after water-changes, & something I can add directly to my display to allow me to run a larger amount of Purigen along with the sponges.. Instead of the small amount I run in my sump.. Does that make sense or am I just kinda odd?
