Thinking of getting NTT

Like everyone else who had mentioned, it is a bit tricky with NTT.
Got myself a 4incher last Feb. Stable colours, swimming gracefully in its tank. However, it just chose not to eat anything for over 2 months.

To cut the story short, yeahh I lost it last month. Not to hunger but a disease outbreak. It spread to other Dats until eventually I lost 2 NTTs, 2 ATs and an IT. Tough luck! It was a little too late for Prazi Gold to turn things around.

As an advice, perhaps to just QT QT QT an NTT before itching to drop it on your main tank.

Interesting and a few years ago members were losing young new NTT left and right...it started with the rapid breathing or gill pumping and then they would die shortly afterward so agreed....quarantine and parasite treatment is of paramount importance when dealing with these fish.

in 2015 the same story happend with my 1st try to have NTT. I've buy 8 of them. ~2 month they don't accept frozen food and eat only feeders. And then die one by one from some infections (see photo). But then I trying to make quarantine by myselfe. 2015-09-29 13.37.16.jpg

Now I try to have NTT one more time. They feel good but ~1month dont eat anything. This time I bought them after good quarantine.

Wow that's awesome. How long have you had them together? Do they always fight? And how big are they?

Thank you!!! I've got 3 of them ~1,5 years in same tank, now they ~20cm, 25cm and 30cm and yes, they always fight. There is one leader who always kick two others. he always have good color and dont hide. Two others offen black and always hide. I try to remove the angry one in other tank, and the bigger one start kick smaller one. On video you can see than I return angry NGT back, they foget each other and start fight again. I think there is a mistake to have several NGT in one tank. They ignore other Datz, but very angry to each other.

Yeah I had a similar experience when I had 2 NGTs. So I sold one of them. My current ngt a killer. Now he is probably a bit bigger than your biggest guy and he's killed 3 of my indo datnoids and because of that I only have 1 dat right now I don't think I'll be getting any more dats lol
