Thinking of picking up a Red Devil and I have some questions.

These pictures suck, but the fish is still a bit skittish and won't let me in close. Unfortunately it is about half the size of my Jag and Dempsey, but it seems like the Jag is the only one interested in chasing it around. He doesn't seem like he is trying to eat it yet, just being his normal annoying self. Hopefully it will blend in to the tank without getting harassed too much, if not I will have a beautiful 10-11 in. Jag for sale for 20 bucks. Any guesses on sex may have to wait until I can get up closer, I didn't vent it when I got home because it was about an hour drive from the store and I had all three of my kids in tow, who also needed to get put to bed. I did stare at it's business end long enough in the store to look like a wacko, and from what I could ascertain, it should be a girl. Let's hope it sticks around long enough to find out. Also if your near southeast Pa. and you are looking for a larger male Jag to add to your tank keep an eye on this post.

I live in upper darby,pa right outside of philly. If you decide to sell your male jag hit me up grimaldi082686@yahoo.com ill take him in a heart beat been looking for one for a while now. also what fish store do u use.

I grew up on Larchwood across from World Wide Pets in UD. Surprised you couldn't find one there, that guy Jim that runs the fish department is awesome. I will let you know buddy, Downingtown is about an hour and some change from your place. I go to That Pet Place, the place in east Norriton that used to be called Captain Nemos, and this little place called Treasure Island that has shops in Thorndale and West Chester. Of course I still go to World Wide too. Thanks too it's good to have a backup plan.

Day 2 was better for the Devil. He's getting along decently with both other fish and swimming more freely. I will post better pics when it lets me get up close.

I grew up in West Chester and now live in Coatesville. My favorite LFS is That Pet Place in Lancaster.
No offense, but Treasure Island sucks. They don't have a lot of cichlids to choose from. This kid that works there told me an Oscar can live in a 40g for life lol!

That Pet Place is by far the best. I'm just super close to Treasure Island for quick stop ins when I run out food or something. My stock comes from TPP or Nemo's.

This Red Devil is great. He/she is definitely the goat in the tank but seems tough enough to handle the occasional light chasing from the Jag and Dempsey. There are no bites from the old boys just pushing it around a bit. Also the Devil even came forward to try and threaten me while I wiped the glass, which, although stupid, was very encouraging to see. So far so good in here, and thanks for all the replies. By the way I think it is female, it seems to have changed the attitude in the tank in a good way for now. Less aggression between the big boys and what seems like more skirt chasing with the Devil. Still got my fingers crossed. Thanks again.
