Thinking we are done...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here are some pics of the pond as it sits now, it looks alot different than it did originally in our avatar pic. It changed with the need to upgrade filtration to accommodate growing and more rays.

Filter (3' long piece of 12" pvc full of bio balls, also has a layer of crushed coral at the top and fabric filter)

We have some pics of the rays too, but it is hard to get good shots from above with water movement on the surface. I'll post what we have shortly.

WOW! Makes me wish I still lived in Forest Park and had that huge basement. Looks like your plants are doing well. Sucks your getting out of breeding but you gotta do what you gotta do. Best of luck.

I would love to purchase your rays! I have the space and the cash on hand. Let me know when your ready to sell and hopefully we can work something out!

Now that's a filter!

LOL...yes, it is a monster filter, but it does a fantastic job.

We prefer to sell it all together and have a few people interested in the entire setup. We will post it for sale probably in a week or so if we don't have a deposit on it from one of the other people. It will not be available for pickup until after the one pregnant female has her pups (due around Christmas). If all of these interested people fall thru and we don't get anyone else biting on the whole thing we might start to consider seperating it, but that is not what we really want to do. Will keep you posted on how things go.

It is a 3 foot long piece of 12 inch pvc (it is used commercially as sewer pipe) We put a "bottom" on it using a lid from a 5 gallon bucket that we drilled 1/2" holes all over. Filled it with bio balls then a layer of crushed coral in a netting bag then a layer of fabric filter on top that we change out ever few days. Water is pumped to it by a Mag 18. It's plumbed with 1 1/2 inch pvc from the Mag 18 to the filter. It's pretty simple but allows for a long travel thru the bio balls. It was probably the best thing we ever did for the pond. It's not pretty, but works wonderfully. :)

earned brother, I'll build this one for me, I will soon post pictures of my rays, I intend to get them young

Great! Good luck with the build. We don't think you will be disappointed in the outcome.

Dang, FBF, I just saw this today! Sorry to hear you're getting out of it. Good call on keeping Batgirl though, she's a gorgeous little girl.

I wish I were in a position to help you out, but I'm looking at moving real soon and everything is up in the air right now.

I have to say I was planning on calling you up about a couple of pups once we get a new place and get settled in. Oh well. My fiance and I will have to come up and see Batgirl again sometime. It was a great visit we had last time.
