Yeah,a lot of people don't seem to realize just how big a Niger can get.I've never kept eels so I don't know much about them but I've heard or read that fires can get to a nice size as well....Hope the Niger went to a good home.

Yeah the niger is in a display tank.

not really

Pics tommrow!

your fire eel need a 180gallon or a 200gallon. i had a 18" one and had to get rid of him because i didn't have a big tank for him and now he in a 180 and the guy i gave him too is looking for a 200 because of the fire eel and other fish he has.
nice trade by the way. :D

No. First you put the Catfish into the canoe with the gar and drop them off in you own tank. Then you go back, pick up the gar and the sucka you got him from. Then you take those two over to your tank and drop them in too. Problem solved.

HUH?? What the heck are you saying??

for monetary considerations i think it was not a wise trade. the gar and fire eel at most here at my LFS would total $60 the most while the niger would go at least $100

Well its a good trade if you dont own anything above a 300 gallon

The LFS I work at has a massive Niger cat in a display 2000 gallon. It looks like it could be close to three feet.

I've seen 3-4" Nigers for 80 bucks at an overpriced LFS. Where I work a 10" Fire eel is around 35 dollars and the needlenose gars are 10. Pricewise he got the better deal, but he is also got a catfish that can grow to 3 feet.
