here's what you do, catch a few hundred ground squirrels, and then in the middle of the night release them all into her yard :D

I like that idea!

I like ground squirrels, much prettier than common squirrels. We have a similar problem in my neighborhood, except it involves a rapidly growing feral cat population. This woman across the street feeds them, but won't get the neutered. And where do they live? Under our deck of course! We used to have all sorts of birds nesting on our deck, but the feral cats have killed/scared all of them off. Naturally, they don't eat what they kill, they leave the decapitated bodies of the chicks on our deck that is now permanently blood stained. We even have a lovely half-decomposed rabbit corpse in the garden in our back yard!!! You can imagine how pleasant the smell is mixed with the cat piss. We even have a dramatically reduced number of lizards, snakes, insects, and almost every single species of native wildlife that used to thrive in our landscaped yard.

With our amazing luck, our neighbors, especially their kids, love the cats! My family hates them!!! We've come up with a few ideas to get rid of them, like; scoped rifles, baited bear traps, spiked pit falls, poisoning, large amounts of Copperheads, and bear traps. Catch, fix, and release is not an option here. They've become too out of control.I know that our resident hawk has taken a few out, but she can't keep up with their prolific lifestyle.

We have had the same problem that you guys are having... at our old neighborhood, our neighbor was the same way... many cats but didnt spay any of them.. luckily all she had was 6 so we captured, spayed, and returned...

at least with your killing of feral cats if you go into the "wild" you wont find any... with the ground squirrels here you go to the desert or any mountains you'll see some but not a whole bunch... which IMO is the reason why capturing and relocating (only when the animal would be in danger, by a non-native species, like dogs or cats, if it is released where caught, like my situation) is the best thing to do with the squirrels.

We have at least 20 of them, probably more. You know there's a problem when the little kids on the cul de sac want you to hold the kittens and the first thing they say is, "they don't have rabbies." They're a pest more than anything. We always relocate native species if they pose a threat (Copperheads), or are threatened (raccoons and skunks). The skunk was the most fun to move, not really. Luckily he didn't spray. We try to keep as many snakes around as possible, mainly rat snakes.

I had a neighbor behind my house used to do that, cut down all the trees in his yard and put traps out for animals. But whenever my brother or I saw an animal trapped we would run accross the yard and let it free if the owner wasn't home!

SO mean to destroy their habitat and then entrap them!
