You got the ice right, whenever winter comes around all there are always tons of ducks and swans that comes with it, so I try to get out there and snap some pics of them.

A piece of drift wood is nice in a tank.. nice in my garden...however you must know where it came from.. and only driftwood that comes from ocean, stream, creek, lake would be okay to use but only after it is cured in water for about 90 days.. any other driftwood would not be safe at all.. and after it has been sitting around a long time many many insects and even things you cannot see with your naked eye it could contaminate the water and kill your fish..so before you use check out everything about driftwood..anything we add to the tank could also change the ph etc..very risky if it is not totally treated..
wow the more i look at that driftwood i think of what i can do in my gardens.. but another thing i just remenbered is they say if the wood was never cured by water for a long time.. when you put it in an aquarium it rots.. and of course this is harmful.. so i think you are better off just adding it to moms garden.

But yea I'm not 100% I have no problem doing multiple hot water bathes on it if that's what it'll take. Before adding any wood to my snake tanks I always put it in a really hot shower and then soak it, then another hot shower. Might try out just the smaller piece first to see what happens. That one has the least amount of loose pieces coming off of it. If anything I think that'll be my deterrent, don't want all these little pieces of wood floating around my tank.
