I plan on getting the Louisiana Longear Sunfish when I get back from Afghanistan. I loved catching these when I was stationed at Fort Polk.

We now need actual photos.
Great looking cold water fish.
Go to the Nanfa forum and look under Zimmermans fish in the vendor section, you will find many of his customers have posted pictures of the fish they have bought from him (mainly the Longears and Dollar sunnies).

We have these ALL OVER in Missouri. I'm glad to see some interest in keeping them. Most people around here just complain cause they're adept bait steelers. I've kept them before and they look awesome in an aquarium. I think they are more beautiful than many salt water fish.

True that. I live in southern Missouri and the streams are just packed with em. Some of the most colorful fish I've ever seen.

man, i should just make a business selling these guys lol.
i caught 40 or so this weekend about the size of my hand haha.

beautiful fishh!!!

I wonder how long that fish had been in Brian's aquarium before the picture were taking. I know my green sunfish change colors depending on the environment they are in. I catch them in shallow water over light colored silt beds, and their colors are much brighter than when they have been in my darker tank for awhile.

I think to keep those bright colors consistently, you'd need to replicate the environment the fish was caught in.

I have some northern longears I bought from Brian and all I can say is he is a great person to do buisiness with. He honored his live arrival no problem and even threw in one extra fish than I had ordered. I have had my northern longears for about 6 mkonyths now and are starting to show their color more and more

I know I would buy a couple. I would love to get a couple adults. I would order from zimmerman, but my tanks are already stocked with adult fish that would eat the small ones he sends out.
