Never underestimate a predatory fish especially not one whose name implies that it has a big mouth... especially with a smaller fish that is spaghetti shaped... live and learn, sure it was a stupid thing to do, but it happens.

Polys can get through a lot of small spaces, including under/over/around dividers. Keep an eye on them.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he realized just how huge a LMB could be and that he couldn't properly house it for life. He couldn't release the fish, so he did the only thing he could do and euthanized it.
