i think they were bred to guard castles and such and that way if someone came up on them and grabbed them they could actually turn around and attack the intruder.

I think he meant Chow chow.
Sharpei is known as Chinese bulldog, very good guard dog. I had three in the past. They won't take food from stranger, only from owner. They're more active than English bulldog, but they're not the type of dog that likes to jog with its owner or play fetch They require some skin care, due to the wrinkles, or they'll get smelly. Great dog! I miss mine.

its a Shiba Inu pup! nah hes my mates but too kool and the only small dog breed id personally think of owning they have personality's too kool for skool!
