i just have to kinda rant about this story.

my girlfriend in the process of general conversation with her ex husband was bragging about my 14" male wolf cichlid. he tells her that there's no such thing as a wolf cichlid, even though he claims to have worked at the last good LFS for monsters in town. the part that i really find amusing is how when they talk of his 12" red devil, he explains that it's grown so large that it's turned white! :screwy: don't you love when people know what they're talking about?
 
I hear this crap ALL the time..

People who know it all, but really don't.. It gets old quick.

I was dropping off some fish at a LFS here recently, one that is going to be going out of business soon infact, just to 'get rid' of some fish I had no room for..

I told him my wholesale price was $.95 cents for Bleeding Heart Tetras.. He told me he could get them for $0.70! Even though we have had this argument before, and I even brought in wholesale lists to prove to him that no one sells them for that cheap, he still continues to argue with me that he can get them cheaper..

The funnier part is he said, and I quote, "You can buy them for a $1 at PetSmart"..

What is even funnier is this guy really believes himself when he makes these statements.

hahahah.. and this is the guy I am suppose to kiss his ass because 'He knows everything to know about fish, Hes been in the Industry for 40 years, blah frikn blah blah blah..'

Hes a dolt.
 
tell him since he gets them for 70 cents tell him you will give him 75- 80 cents for them..then see what story he comes up with..
 
LoL! Those are some kinky stories guyS!! I have to say though i had a completely totally different experience last week!! It was AWESOME!! I went to a 'new' LFS on Thursday to sell some of my sisters live rock and fish cuz I've convinced her to go fresh...ah hahahaha....anyway....this LFS was PIMP!! HOLY SHIZNET!! They were mostly Salt Water...but they were the most knowledgable pet store i have EVER been to. They knew scientific names, compatability, max size, everything! It was jaw droppin! They had freshwater as well, and were very knowledgeable about that as well...but they were mostly Africans...grrr. Anywho....this was my first time ever bein there....and...THEY OFFERED ME A JOB!!! They were like, "You shore know a lot about fish, are you lookin for a job? Cuz we need someone who knows what they are talkin about!"....caught me off gaurd! Sooo i think i am gonna be workin at a LFS!! WOOOT!!

COOL !!! Now that's a great opportunity to show them that they need to make their inventory a little bit more jurasic.

I had a LFS tell me that a Senegal bichir gets three feet!

The weird thing is my girlfriends red devil who for its entire life probably close to two years and 10 inches or so has been orange 90% 10% white... All the sudden two weeks ago out of no where within two days it turned completely gleaming white all white. It is very strange.. His comment of it grew so large it turned white doesn't really make sense
