This Is Where PetSmart Gets Its Animals, And It's Not Pretty

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's rough stuff, man. I've done a pretty good job at eliminating animal tested products from my house. There is no reason for it. I mentioned it because it's easy to complain about petstores and it's easy to not buy animals from certain stores. But if you really want to make difference, you gotta do a bit more than nothing.
You're preaching to the choir. People have this sense of self entitlement as if their lives are so much more valuable. Last time I checked humans run pretty slow considering their size. They also can't fly. Or spend much time under water.
We quickly forget how life on earth is the only life we know about in the whole universe. And believe me, we won't be exploring the cosmos looking for intelligent life anytime soon. Considering how unique life is to the planet and how intelligent we think we are, we sure do a good job and treating that unique life like absolute ****.
Where is the "Like post multiple times" button?

Sorry but these statements are a load of bs. Humans evolved to be persistence hunters, not be sprinters, yes the cheetah can out run me for 30 seconds but at the 45 second mark I'll be able to catch up and pass it.

I can hold my breath for just over 4 minutes under water or roughly 75 yards under the surface, with the world record being 22 minutes.

Yes we can't fly naturally. But there's no animal in the real world that can fly, run persistently, and swim well. But we have been able to figure out how to fly artificially. Has any other species come close to that?

Let's stop down playing our achievements as a species.
Ever heard of "Being too smart for your own good"?

That's exactly what we are.

Only species on the planet to willingly kill itself lol.

Lemmings run off cliffs. Would their suicides not be considered willing?

Really whales beach themselves

One thing animals have on humans is they arent hypocritical lol

I understand that I am "preaching to the choir" as you put it. And exactly as J jaws7777 says, I see these terrible treatments to animals and then turn around and go buy a fish/rep/small mammal which in turn is supporting this very unethical treatment of animals. It really does make me feel bad when put like this. Maybe some of thinking is that these animals will be brought into the trade regardless and me buying some of them can be viewed as "saving" said animal. But trust me I completely understand what both of you are saying and I agree.

Off topic slightly but,

Talking about the Earth/Cosmos...my biggest thing is one time use plastics which imo and others are the most detrimental thing that the Earth has ever seen. I pride myself in not using single use plastics (of course when applicable as some times it is literally impossible to avoid), such as not using paper or plastic when grocery shopping and simply carrying all groceries.

My current collegiate research is based on bioremediation (concerning petroleum waste in ocean water). My topic adviser's main research pertains to microbiological nutrient cycling in Antarctica where she tells me there is not a single piece of waste that can be left behind (yes not a single piece) and where polyethylene (plastic) is actually illegal to have on the continent. This should be a law for our planet in my opinion :)

Sorry off topic just ranting.

Guys, we are talking unexplained anomalies......it's very possible humans are responsible somehow for this stuff happening in the 1st place, especially whales beaching themselves.

Kid, you complete missed my point. We as a species forget how unique the rest of the life on the planet is. We treat other forms of life is as if it's nothing special.

Do some research about lemmings before you come to me talking nonsense. I'm just gonna ignore you though. Lol.

Plenty of research has been done on the whole lemming suicide thing. They don't aimlessly jump to their deaths.

And before someone posts the famous white wilderness video, it's proven to be a fake. I actually think the lemmings we forced off the cliff. Read some science on it.
