Lots of knife talk so here is some related news..TSA'S will now allow travelers to come aboard airplanes with small pocket knives.The blade must not exceed two inches.

once, my husband forgot about his and had to throw a good one away. you know darn well those guys take home all the bounty from forgetful people.
 
Its about time. No one is going to let another terrorist hijack a plane with a boxcutter again after 9-11... Unless you believe that it wasn't 2 airliners that brought down the towers; then I suppose you'd let them take the plane over, but the person sitting next to you probably won't.
 
I heard it was "at the agent's discretion" whether or not to allow the knife on board... it would suck to lose a nice knife.

I heard that some flight attendants are not happy about this and personally,I don't see why one has to bring any kind of knife aboard a plane.

LOL, I didn't mean like bringing your own steak knife... Just that a lot of people carry a knife everywhere. I used too until I started wearing skinny jeans, now I leave it in the car or my briefcase. Its simply a handy tool to have, and I don't see why I should have to make sure I "check" it in my luggage.
