you killed them...

always use all ur old water, old filters and media. if its not established already u needa let it cycle for over a week.

24hr cycles SOMETIMES work, but usually end up like this thread.

My GT survived 69 degree water when I forgot to turn the heater back on once. You need to use old filters/media if you want to skip the cycling.

the second fish is a salvini, I'm not sure about the 1st.

Could have also been electrocution. If your heater got cracked or damaged in some way inside the tank, it could have electrocuted the fish when it cane in contact with the water. I've had this happen before with cichlids that got a little too zealous playing with the heater.

yeah thats true if you fill the new tank like half way with water from an old tank and use the filters from it plus adding a bio supplement you don't need to wait 4-6 weeks but waiting a few days is good to do

well yea, of you use the old filters and the old water its no big deal - the whole point is to allow BB to grow, and if you use the old filters, there will be enough BB, save any you loose with the new substrate. Sound like here though it was a new tank with all new equipment, right?

I agree it would be hard to get that cold that quick..
