Okay, I'm pretty certain this is going to cause some controversy, but whatever. I think I speak for a number of other people who do not like seeing threads deleted. I dislike the other board, and am always "loyal" to MFK, but the one thing I noticed about them is that they don't delete threads for whatever reason, no matter the controversy caused because of it. Not only deleting threads, but deleting and changing posts. It's happened to me before, it's happened to a number of other people, and I would just like it to stop.

Done ranting, and bring on the :FIREdevil :angryfire :nilly: :banhim:

Yeah Ego will always inflate with even the smallest power (being able to change/delete threads). They think (just like our govt) they know what info we should see and not see.

LOL

i wonder if this thread will be deleted now....

Sorry. I intend to continue deleting threads that contain inappropriate material for a public forum, contain bigotted comments or slurs, demean or threaten any member, and are of a nature to incite infighting instead of sharing topics of learning and experiences. There are enough sites on the 'net for that BS without being forced to suffer it's ilk on a site dedicated to the care and raising of aquatic and other pets.

I hope not, and it's probably really really bad timing considering what's been happening. I hope it'll just be a discussion between MFK members only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You make a decent point.
However, consider why things are deleted; To attempt to keep conflict at a minimum. I know what thread you're talking about ben, and I'm not sure what went on there.

I also think that other boards keep threads open to keep the pot stirred. I don't like it. I think it's childish and antagonistic. Why were these boards made? Are we here to be in a constant pissing match, or here to discuss something we enjoy and take pride in.

To be quite honest I'm getting sick of all of the childish posts/threads. Maybe it's because I'm the one deleting them, but I cant understand why people seem to want constant drama. Go watch the damn soap opera network if that's what you want. If it sound like I'm bitter, it's because I am! I came here to converse about our aquatic friends, not our imaginary rivals. I could rant for quite a while, but I'm sure this isn't dramatic enough to obtain the attention of certain members.

Ben......don't take this personally, but things like this are getting old.

Please Stop:

It's all good and fair the point you're making. Like I said before, bad timing on my part, but I was really referring to that summer thread of the world cup. I understand that certain threads NEED to be deleted for whatever reasons, but it seems to be like it's taken too far on a number of occasions. I'm not gonna try to stir the pot anymore, I would just like to think that we can discuss certain things without a thread being immediately deleted because people "might" say something offensive.

My editing of posts is limited to masking profanity and correcting spelling, grammar, and syntax. On occassion, I'm forced to delete part of a sale thread when a restricted species is offered for sale/trade along with legal species or a member posts a "Want" ad for a restricted species.
